So many times I have met with clients who have previously built a custom home and the house is beautiful, but the quality is lacking. Their utility bills are as much or more than the house payment....the house did not withstand the test of time.
It is my opinion that custom means quality, energy conscious construction, built with integrity.....the end result is a home to enjoy and share with friends and family....for a lifetime. I've built a 7500 sq ft house - 6000 under air conditioning and the electric bills during the summer have never been more than $ 225.00. Solid construction, 2 x 6 walls allowing for extra insulation in the walls, 100% stone exterior, marble floors. Custom should not just mean that you can pick out the carpet and paint.....you are relying on the expertise of a builder to guide you toward the right choices for the long term payoff.
